The Nave Series

A live acoustic concert initiative on Prince Edward Island.

The Nave Series

The Nave Series is a live acoustic concert initiative created by Thatcher MacKay and Luka Hall. Its purpose is to utilize church spaces across Prince Edward Island for intimate and high-quality musical performances. The Nave is the central part of a church building, typically the largest open area, designed as the main space where people gather. It is characterized by its open layout and resonant natural acoustics, making it a well-suited place for bringing people together in a shared setting. The goal of The Nave Series is to create meaningful musical gatherings while making use of church spaces that are often not used to their full potential. Through these performances, we reintroduce these spaces as vibrant community venues all across the island. Many churches on Prince Edward Island have remarkable acoustics and beautiful architectural spaces that are not always fully utilized outside of traditional services. The Nave Series seeks to highlight the natural, raw sound that can only be experienced in a church setting, offering audiences a cherished listening experience unlike a typical restaurant or festival environment.

The Experience

The Nave Series is designed as a true listening-room experience. With warm lighting, natural acoustics, and carefully curated performances, each evening is created to feel intimate, immersive, and personal.
Guests are invited to unplug, settle in, and experience live music the way it was meant to be heard — clear, resonant, and uninterrupted.

Why Churches?

Churches offer something most modern venues can’t — natural acoustics, warmth, and a space that encourages true listening. The height of the ceilings, the wood interiors, and the open layout create a rich, resonant sound that enhances acoustic instruments without the need for heavy amplification. There’s also a unique sense of closeness that comes from gathering in a setting designed for reflection and community. The Nave Series brings music into that environment intentionally, creating an experience that feels intimate, immersive, and genuinely connected.
